Where medical cannabis is legal opioid addiction has reduced by upto 25% but the government maintain they are stumped as to why that is? Researchers looked at medical cannabis Laws and death certificate data in all 50 states between the years 1999 & 2010. During that time only 13 states had legal cannabis laws in place. Research quickly noticed the rates of fatal opiod overdoses were significantly lower in these states.
Dr. Marcus Bamber said “ we found that there was appx a 25% lower rate of prescription overdose deaths in states where cannabis had been made medically legal.
